Christmas Book Bags

For Christmas this year I decided to make all of my 10 nieces and nephews book bags for the library. I used a few different books and got a lot of cute patterns, and in the end I think they all turned out super cute.

Resources:

These were all extremely helpful books. I think I used Happy Stitch and Super Cute Felt the most, but From Felt to Fabulous has some cute patterns in it also.

These first 4 bags were for Hyde, Hattie, Liam, and Elias. They live over in China so I had to finish these fast and get them shipped. It worked out perfectly, they arrived on Christmas!  I think my favorite one out of these 4 is Hattie's. The flowers have buttons in the middle and its just so girly and cute. The Fox is also really cute. I was informed that they loved them and they carry all there toys around and the baby even wanted to sleep with his.

The next 4 were for my two brothers kids. The owl is probably my favorite, even though I love the bees!! The owl goes along with a stuffed animal I made my niece a couple of years ago. The kids were all sick this Christmas so we didn't get to have Christmas until the following weekend. So luckily I had time to procrastinate a little and get these done. I finished David and Jonny's last so I didn't get the best pictures of them.

The last two turned out sooooo cute! I think I was originally going to make just two bags for Christmas. It was these kids that gave me the idea in the first place. They go to the library all the time so I thought this would be fun gift. Then as I started thinking about it I figured I would just make all the kids one, because they all love books!
The green bunnies for Magnus is due to the fact that when you ask him what he dreams about he will always tell you green bunnies. So right from the start I new I had to do green bunnies. Clive's bag actually was the only one I didn't use the books that I listed. I found the picture on line and just blew it up, and cut it out. The crocodile is because we call him Clive-a-dile.

The first time they used the bags they were so sweet to send me a picture.

Boo!!

I love making Halloween crafts! I think my wreath this month turned out super cute. I also made a Halloween ornament for a recent swap that I did on Facebook. I was not as thrilled with the way it turned out.  The pattern is really cute so it makes up for my finishing job. I got both patterns from Just Cross Stitch Magazine's Halloween collector's issue. I highly recommend picking a copy up, it has lots and lots of really cute patterns.

Clive-a-dile's Blanket

Its finally finished! I've been working for a while on this blanket for my nephew and Its finally done. Clive is the newest member of the Parkinson clan, hes the cutest little kid.
I loved the way the blanket turned out, I put the softest light green material on the back, its perfect for snuggling.

Happy July!!

I got my July wreath done on the 4th of July. How appropriate... I'm pretty excited about it, it was a vision one night while I was trying to get to sleep. I even designed my own pattern using PC Stitch. Side note...I love PC Stitch. I upgraded to the pro version for my birthday, best decision. I highly recommend getting the pro version if you don't have it.

I used toilet paper rolls for the fire crackers and wrapped the aida around using glue dots for adhesive. I wrapped 4 different kinds of ribbon around the wreath. (red, white, blue, and gold) And I got the cute firecracker explosion from the dollar store. they were originally balloon weights. I had to rip the bunch of wire out a little cement block, it was kind of tough, but it was worth it.

Happy 4th of July! (and 24th of July to my fellow Utahns).

Apples and Pears

I made this great bag for my cousin last month. I LOVE the way that it turned out. It also made me realize how much I love felt applique, and I will be doing a lot more in the future.

The bag that I bought is an Eco Bag. Its made of recycled cotton.  This cotton is made up of reclaimed post-industrial organic and natural cotton scrap. They are also made under the fair trade, fair labor policy. All in all its one awesome bag.

I got the pattern from issue 248 of CrossStitcher Magazine. I was going to stitch all 4 patterns, but I kind of ran out of time, so on a whim I decided to do two of the patterns out of felt. I'm glad I did, because it turned out so cute!
