Clive-a-dile's Blanket

 Its finally finished! I've been working for a while on this blanket for my nephew and Its finally done. Clive is the newest member of the Parkinson clan, hes the cutest little kid.
I loved the way the blanket turned out, I put the softest light green material on the back, its perfect for snuggling.

I got my July wreath done on the 4th of July. How appropriate... I'm pretty excited about it, it was a vision one night while I was trying to get to sleep. I even designed my own pattern using PC Stitch. Side note...I love PC Stitch. I upgraded to the pro version for my birthday, best decision. I highly recommend getting the pro version if you don't have it.

I used toilet paper rolls for the fire crackers and wrapped the aida around using glue dots for adhesive. I wrapped 4 different kinds of ribbon around the wreath. (red, white, blue, and gold) And I got the cute firecracker explosion from the dollar store. they were originally balloon weights. I had to rip the bunch of wire out a little cement block, it was kind of tough, but it was worth it.

Apples and Pears

I made this great bag for my cousin last month. I LOVE the way that it turned out. It also made me realize how much I love felt applique, and I will be doing a lot more in the future.

The bag that I bought is an Eco Bag. Its made of recycled cotton.  This cotton is made up of reclaimed post-industrial organic and natural cotton scrap. They are also made under the fair trade, fair labor policy. All in all its one awesome bag.

I got the pattern from issue 248 of CrossStitcher Magazine. I was going to stitch all 4 patterns, but I kind of ran out of time, so on a whim I decided to do two of the patterns out of felt. I'm glad I did, because it turned out so cute!

What In The World Have Your Been Stitching!

I haven't blogged for a little while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been stitching!
My husband may say that I stitch too much...but that's okay.  I have been doing a lot of swaps.  I love that I can do cute little projects, and send them away to someone who will appreciate them.  I hope you enjoy the many pictures to follow.

This was a needle keep that I made. I think I turned out sooooooo cute. I want to make me one, but I always have a hard time stitching something twice, so in the end I probably wont.

 This is what I received, I love the cute needle keep, it has lots of pages for needles and the cute pin cushion too!

I also just finished stitching this humbug. I love the pattern. I used a tiny portion of a larger pattern for this. I really want to stitch the larger pattern, I might actually do that one day. I love black work.
I have not received my humbug yet, I should get it any day now!

I designed this Valentines day pattern, I think it turned out OK. Did I mention I looooove black work. ( does anyone know how to flip a picture in blogger? For the life of me I can't figure it out.)

I'm a lucky girl. I got such a cute Valentine! and stickers too.

The cartoon swap was one of my favorites. I'll admit I'm not a huge Looney Tunes fan, there are some shorts that I absolutely love and wish I had, but for the most part there just Ok, but I love the way this towel turned out. I hope that she liked it over in the UK.

 I got the cutest little bag in return, I put it too good use holding my candy. 

I'm almost done I promise. The last one has the funniest story. We were assigned to do a county of origin swap in the form of a post card. I stitched this pattern up from one of my really old magazines, and sent it off thinking I was being so prompt and awesome. No joke, like two days later she sends me an email saying that she has moved! We were thinking that she would still be able to get it though, so hopefully no worries. Well as time went on turns out she couldn't, so I stitched up a bit simpler version of the first one. NO JOKE, like two days later the first one I sent came back to me in the mail! So now I get one too!

Time Flys When Your Stitching

 My best friend was married almost a year ago. Almost to the day a year ago me and my husband got the opportunity to go to China. While on the plane (for a very very long time)  I worked on this sampler for my friends wedding. I thought it was a good time to post a picture of it. I love the way it turned out. It is probably one of my favorite projects that I have done.

St. Patty's to Easter

I started with the Valentines wreath, but could not stop there. I had to make a St. Patty's wreath as well as an Easter one. I stuck with my burlap wreath and had some fun.

For my St. Patty's wreath I wanted to try a technique that me and my mom had tried years and years ago. I'm not thrilled on the way they turned out, but oh well, I didn't give myself much time to work with, so it had to do.

You use fabric wrapped wire, and bend it into the shape that you want. For me I did 4 leaf clovers. Then you glue them onto the fabric.  I used way too much glue, and it didn't turn out the way I really wanted, but it was fine. You then carefully cut them out, it was harder then I remembered.

Then I just used some long pins and pined them onto the wreath and wrapped it with some cute ribbon.

The Easter wreath I saw in Issue 250 of CrossStitcher. The bunnies were just too cute to pass up, I had to stitch them. They were super easy, and they kind of looked like little aliens while I was stitching them, it made me laugh.

I hooked everything onto little clips that I found in the jewelry department at my local Joann's. The clips on the bunnies are even Velcroed on so I can use the clips again for something else.


I used the bow from my Valentines wreath, and found some more cute pink ribbon. Out of the three wreaths I have made so far, this one is my favorite. 

Valentines Day Project

Since I am stuck at home sick, I figured this would be a good time to catch up on the blogging.  One of my recent projects was making a Valentines Day wreath. I went to Ben Franklin Crafts and wandered around until I had the idea all worked out in my head. It took some trial and error getting the right supplies, and the wreath went up right before Valentines Day. I like cutting it close.

 I ended up buying the wrong size of self cover buttons in the beginning, thinking that it would be close enough. Well luckily Amazon has everything, and with free two day shipping, it didn't set me too far back

 I made lots of little rosettes. This was my first attempt at it, I see it all the time in my magazines, and I thought I would give it a try. All the buttons looks like conversation hearts.

And the finished wreath turned out pretty cute. All the flowers are on clips so I can change the wreath for each holiday. I love the burlap wreath, I plan on using it all year round. And thanks to my mom it has a cute pink bow.
